Break the cycle of intergenerational incarceration and reduce the likelihood of at-risk children following the footprints of an incarcerated parent in the criminal justice system.

Provide preventive, interventive, and transformative services for children and families affected by the incarceration of a loved one.​

Statistics:

  • Over 53% of current U.S. prisoners are parents.

  • 15,000 children with an incarcerated parent live in Miami-Dade County.

  • Another 8,000 kids are in Broward.

  • Estimated 300,000 total kids in Florida.

  • Female prisoners serve an average 49 months in state prison and 66 months in federal prison  (4-6 years)

  • Men serve an average of 80 months in state prison and 103 months in federal prison (6-9) years

  • 75% of incarcerated  women are mothers.
